Ease of Use

The shoulder strap of the Sling-Ski® can be used diagonally across the chest when walking significant distances, as sometimes required from a parking lot to a ski area. The natural curvature of the human spine results in only one weight-bearing contact point between the Sling-Ski® and the user and that is the shoulder. We humans instinctively opt to bear weight on our shoulders as it is the most efficient and least stressful weight-bearing area of our bodies. The Sling-Ski® can also be used vertically over one shoulder for shorter carrying distances, but this way usually requires the assistance of a hand to prevent the assembly from accidentally slipping off the shoulder and dropping to the ground. Either way, the Sling-Ski® allows the user to transport their skis and poles over any terrain no matter how icy, irregular or steep - or a combination of the three.
